Renal osteodystrophy
When weak and poorly mineralised bones are caused by a chronic kidney disease and a loss of kidney function it is called renal osteodystrophy. Renal osteodystrophy is a common problem for people on dialysis who have high phosphate levels or disorders of the vitamin D metabolism.
